OLYMPIC WEIGHTLIFTING AT YORK COUNTY BARBELL

Whether you are a youth, junior, senior or master weightlifter, with zero or a ton of weightlifting experience, we're here to get you to your next level.

Unlike other gyms where athletes receive disassociated coaching, little to no feedback, and poor programming, YORK COUNTY BARBELL is the only gym in the area that provides the opportunity to enhance your technical understanding of the lifts, get stronger, and join a team that trains to compete. We have a long-term approach that develops well-rounded athletes, self-confidence, and mental strength that extends beyond the platform.

When you get started with us we don’t just throw you into group training and programming, our head coach is with you every step of your training. You will meet regularly with your coach to ensure your programming and development is on track with your goals while doing the majority of your training in a coached open gym environment. This means you get individualized coaching and programming without the price tag of personal training.

We offer competitive and non-competitive weightlifting, masters (35+) training, remote coaching, and open gym access.

York County Barbell has been great. I tend to be cautious about gyms, but YCB is super welcoming. Stephen is a good coach, he worked with me and gave me training based on my personal goals. One of the most helpful things is he is present. I tend to have issues with motivation when by myself, especially when it comes to training. He also fosters a good community at the gym and I'm glad to be a member.

Coach Stephen was one of the best coaches I’ve worked with on my Olympic weightlifting. He is able to pick out the smallest of details in my lifts to improve performance, and he gives pointed, simple, and differentiated cues for each athlete. The atmosphere in the room when Stephen coaches is always positive, and he’s genuinely interested in his athletes inside and outside the gym and that’s what sets him apart from the rest.
